Arkansas Journeyman:

 

did you know: Arkansas Licensed electricians must take eight hours of continuing education per year.

Tests are open book and based on the NEC code (Available at Brown Book Store).

Prerequisites

Journeyman

A 4-year electrical construction apprenticeship program approved by the U. S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (make sure to get your “Notice of Apprenticeship Committee Action – Released for Test/Completion” form) , or...

… 8 years of electrical construction experience or training. This training or experience may include electrical experience gained in the military.

Residential Journeyman

Two years experience in the wiring of 1-2 family dwellings, or a two-year combination of training and experience (make sure to get a signed letter from the school verifying your hours).

Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Four years experience under supervision in the maintenance of electrical conductors and equipment

Reciprocal Agreements

Your test results and license will allow you to apply directly for license in these States:

Alaska, New Mexico, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Colorado

Arkansas Masters:

In Arkansas, you must be licensed by the State Licensing Board of Contractors to take any contract over $20,000. Requirements for the Electrical Contractor's license include five years of experience, passing the Arkansas Business and Law exam, and the prior acquisition of a Master Electrician's license.

Six years experience in the construction industry, both residential and commercial, including two years experience as a licensed journeyman electrician

Residential Master

Your test results and license will allow you to apply directly for license in the State of Oregon.
